Summer Vacay Beckons…
Summer officially began some time in late March when we started feeling the scorching heat of the sun… 36 degrees Celsius on most days!! 😯
The other night, I got invited to a trip either to Vigan or Sorsogon — depending on my choice. Yesterday, another friend invited me to either Iloilo or Boracay again depending on my choice.
Here’s my dilemma: I HATE FLYING!!! I’m claustrophobic so riding in stuffy, crowded planes with no way out for at least an hour or so gives me the creeps. I also don’t like long drives — unless it’s a road trip where I can stop, stay and visit other places along the way. But if it’s an 8-hour or 12-hour drive practically non-stop — well then…
Vigan is of course a gorgeous place to visit, with beautiful beaches in nearby Pagudpud; plus the charming Castillan houses and cobbled streets Vigan is famous for. Did I mention they make mouth-watering longganisas that you can’t find anywhere else in the country? Oh, and they have delicious empanadas, too. 😉
Sorsogon has beautiful beaches as well plus the friendly butandings that you can sight when exploring the waters.
Iloilo is the province of my maternal grandmother but I’ve never gone there so I really don’t know much about the place. 😦
Boracay has all the modern amenities of beachside resorts plus the beautiful white sands that the island is known for. But I think it’s too crowded a place for me so that’s out.
As for that tiny matter of getting on a plane or going for a long drive… will have to mull over it some more.
In the meantime, I’d be just as happy staying home, reading a good book or blogging — if only I can have a bit of peace and quiet. 😦
